Liberia is located in Western Africa on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean (Grain Coast) bordered by
Ivory Coast,
Guinea and
Sierra Leone.
The landscape is characterized by mostly flat to rolling coastal plains, which rise to rolling plateau and low mountains in the northeast.
Highest peak is
Mount Wuteve at 1380 meters above sea level.
Major rivers are
St Paul, St John, Mano, Caslos and Dube, which all empty to the Atlantic.
Monrovia is the capital city, other major cities include Robertsport, Greenville, River Cess, Barclayville, Harper, Zwedru and Gbamga.
