Norway has a very elongated shape, with one of the most rugged and longest coastlines in world. The Scandinavian Mountains is the most defining feature of the country.
Norway's highest point is the Galdhopiggen at 2469 meters. With a maximum depth of 514 m, Hornindalsvatnet is Norway's and Europe's deepest lake.
Oslo is the capital city and a major port. Other important cities are Bergen, Drammen, Fredrikstad, Kristiansand, Stavanger, Tromso and Trondheim.
