Niger is a sub-Saharan country in Western Africa.
The Sahara Desert and the Sahel (a semi desert south of the Sahara) covers a large part of Niger. Most of the country, apart from the Air Mountains, is flat and level land. Major river is the Niger.
Mont Greboun is the country's highest point at 1944 meters above sea level.
The capital city is Niamey. Other important cities are Agadez, Diffa, Tillabéri and Tahoua.
