Information about the geography of Michigan
Michigan is one of the 50 states of the United States, being located in the north central regions of the country. It is part of the region that is generally referred to as the Midwest. The state has the longest freshwater coastline, it has a coastline on four of the five Great Lakes, namely Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Eire.
Michigan basically consists of two peninsulas, the Upper Peninsula is located between Lake Superior and Lake Michigan on the northern part of the state. The larger Lower Peninsula lies between Lake Huron and Lake Michigan, occupying the southern parts of the state.
