Information about the geography of Iowa
Iowa lies in the central regions of the United States, it is generally considered to be part of the Midwest region. The state is enclosed by the Mississippi and Missouri rivers on the east and west respectively.
The landforms of Iowa consist of mainly hills and valleys, despite popular perception of being flat. The southern section of the state is covered by the southern Iowa drift plain, while the eastern edge is characterized by the Mississippi alluvial plain.
