Kangchenjunga is the 3rd highest summit in the Himalaya mountains, which also makes it third highest on the entire planet. Only Mount Everest and K2 are higher. The peak is positioned on the border line between Nepal and India. It is India's highest summit, and the second highest in Nepal.
The summit of Kangchenjunga has been considered as the highest mountain till 1852. The mountain has been climbed after numerous unsuccessful attempts in 1955 by George Band and Joe Brown.
