Italy.
Venice (Venezia) is the capital of the region, which is divided into the provinces of Belluno, Padova, Treviso, Rovigo, Venice, Verona and Vicenza
(named for their principal cities).
Veneto lies between the
Adriatic Sea and the ranges of the
Alps (Prealpi Venete, Dolomites, Carnic Alps).
Highest peaks include the Cima Dosici (2340 m) and Mont Baldo (2218 m).
Veneto is traversed by the rivers
Po, Adige and Piave.
