About Veneto
Veneto is a region in the Northeastern part of Italy. Venice (Venezia) is the capital of the region, which is divided into the provinces of Belluno, Padova, Treviso, Rovigo, Venice, Verona and Vicenza (named for their principal cities).
Veneto lies between the Adriatic Sea and the ranges of the Alps (Prealpi Venete, Dolomites, Carnic Alps). Highest peaks include the Cima Dosici (2340 m) and Mont Baldo (2218 m). Veneto is traversed by the rivers Po, Adige and Piave.

Veneto is one of the leading region of Italy when it comes to tourism. Its capital, Venice is one of the most visited cities of the world, with over 10 million visitors per year. Though it is not the only tourist attraction in the region. The cities of Verona, Padova, Vicenza, Treviso are well known for their art. The Adriatic coast offers the best beaches for holidays. Bibione, Lido di Jesolo, Lido di Venezia all have those breathtaking sandy beaches.

Lake Garda lying on the northeastern corner of the region is Italy's largest lake. Thank to its beautiful position, its Mediterranean flora, and the pleasant climate, it is the most popular destination on Northern Italy.

Veneto also has some appealing spa resorts, Abano Terme, Montegrotto Terme, or   Recoaro Terme are also notable destinations for visitors.

The mountains in the north are the home of one of the most breathtaking mountain scenes in Europe, the Dolomites. With groups like Tre Cime di Lavaredo, they fully deserve the reputation of being one of the most famous mountain group within the ranges of the Alps.
