Bosnia and Herzegovina is comprised of two main entities - a joint Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika Srpska.
The Brčko district is part of both the Federation and Republika Srpska.
The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is further divided into ten cantons (or županija): Una-Sana, Posavina, Tuzla, Zenica-Doboj, Bosnian Podrinje, Central Bosnia, Herzegovina-Neretva, West Herzegovina, Sarajevo and Canton 10. Republika Srpska is divided into seven regions: Banja Luka, Doboj, Bijeljina, Vlasenica, Sarajevo-Romanija, Foča, Trebinje. The major cities are the capital Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Bijelina, Prijedor, Doboj, Trebinje, Bosanski Brod, Tuzla, Zenica, Mostar, Bihać. |
