Gabon is located in the Atlantic coast of central Africa. The terrain consists of a narrow coastal plain, a hilly interior, savanna, and mountains. Principal river is the Ogooué.

Mount Milondo is the country's highest point at 1020 meters above sea level.
The capital city is Libreville. Other important cities are Port-Gentil, Franceville and Lambarene.
